I read…..

I read this blog today that was pretty cool. So, I decided to steal it. This girl told a story about a demonstration in her class.

Her teacher put a big, empty mayo jar on the desk. Then he filled it with golf balls. He asked the class if it was full. They said “yes”. Then he poured pebbles in until it was full. He said, “Is it full now?” They said “yes.” Then he poured sand in until it was full. He asked one more time if it was full. The class said “yes” again. After he poured two cups of coffee in he said, this mayo jar represents your life. The golf balls represent the important things like your family and friends. If you only have them, your life is full. The pebbles represent the things like your job, your house, and your car. Not as important. The sand represents the little thing that fill up your time.

You can fill your life with the little things, or even the stuff that seems important but, you won’t have any room for the golf balls.

So make sure your golf balls fill your life.

A student asked what the coffee represented and the teacher responded, “I’m glad you asked. Even when your life seems full, there’s always time to have a cup of coffee with friends.”
